The temple and the cultural center were inaugurated on Rama Navami (5 April 1998) by the then honourable Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee. Besides the daily aratis and lectures, it has programs for youth in BACE and inmates of Tihar Jail, and seminars for corporate people. The Vedic Expo at ISKCON Delhi is one of its kind in India which aims to promote the timeless Vedic wisdom in modern day context, educate people about the history of India especially regarding the two epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. It shows various aspects of the Vedic philosophical and cultural heritage, both through simple exhibits and dioramas and through sophisticated robotic shows. “Food for Life” program is an important activity of ISKCON Delhi. Every day it distributes prasadam to more than seven thousand visitors. It also distributes prasadam in old-age homes and orphanages.
