ISKCON Kolkata is the first ISKCON Temple established by Srila Prabhupada in India. Moreover, ISKCON’S first Ratha Yatra in India took place in Kolkata on 12 July 1972. ISKCON Kolkata’s youth preaching wing ISKCON Youth Forum (IYF) has been preaching to youth community in and around Kolkata since 2001 and hundreds of students have participated in different courses. It has centres called VOICE (Vedic Oasis for Inspiration, Culture & Education) close to some colleges that offer systematic spiritual training program to empower the modern youth. It also has a Youth of Gods Abode center (YOGA) called Bhaktivedanta YOGA within the temple premises. At YOGA, working youths live together and practice Krishna consciousness. Temple has many congregation devotees. Some of these devotees hold Bhakti Vriksha programs at their homes.
